After years of having to go the long route, Streetboarders of the UK now have a place to get all their goods. Brand spanking new and based in the UK, Streetboutique is a fresh new shopping destination launched today. It features a hand picked selection of the finest boards, accessories and apparel from the most sought after streetboard brands, all under the watchful eye of the only man for the job, Colin Horan.

We caught up for our under the bonnet series, WE.GOT.COMPANY:

So, what made you start Streetboutique?
The UK has been crying out for a place to buy boards. I feel that for too long, as a scene, we have been too focused on gaining outside interest in our sport and almost completely forgetting about those within it. For the last year or so, there has been no place to even buy a new board so I wanted to give something to the scene that already exists, which is more important to me that any outside interest right now. If we focus on creating a good scene for ourselves and build solid foundations, the rest will naturally flow.

What types of products will you be stocking?
There will be a range of everything you need as a Streetboarder. Boards, Bindings, Wheels,Apparel, Spare Parts, DVD’s etc.

The vibe is fresh, why should people choose Streetboutique over anywhere else?
Street Boutique is about proving the scene with quality products from the best Streetboard brands around. Its also very important to ensure that Street Boutique is a reliable source that UK Streetboarders can rely on when they need to get their stuff. Those who buy from Street Boutique will know that they are supporting a rider owned business, which is very important in helping the scene grow

You’re selling boards with just plates bar and pivots, do you see that as the future?
Yeah, I think this is an important step. There is a couple of reasons behind this. Firstly, It gives Streetboarders a lot more freedom in what they purchase. For example, a lot of Streetboarders are very particular about the wheels they ride, so by ordering a complete setup they end up with a set of wheels they don’t want. The same could apply to trucks. Often when I would buy a new board I would use my old trucks, partly because they were already nicely warn in and also because the trucks that came with the board were not the ones I wanted to ride. When I wanted to buy a new board, it was because I wanted a fresh bar and plates and a new pivot system. So Street Boutique gives you this option. It also means, when you wanna get the latest board, you don’t need to buy a whole new setup.

You gonna have a team?
Eventually there may be a team, but right now the focus is on making the store as good as it can be.
