Chris Reiche spent the better half of this year in one of the World’s top streetboarding destintions - Argentina.  Check out the hectique tricks he pulled whilst there, plus the reason your next stop after reading will be www.flymetherepronto.com.  Exclusively for Red Pen Streetboard Magazine.

“I’ve seen lots of different places in my life, but  Argentina was totally different to everything else . The people are so familiar and friendly. I found alot of good friends which helped me much to survive in this huge country!

I spent a lot of time in Buenos Aires. skating with Pipo Grosso, Marcos and Robert. those guys have an amazing style. you really can see the difference to the european style. Pipo is the machine, the god of fast feeblecombos. I never saw somebody riding like Pipo. so controlled and fast.. Marcos is a great rider and a very good friend ( btw, he makes the best burgers ever). His style is crazy, he is going super huge und super fast too. he kills EVERY spot!

Buenos Aires has alot of spots and crazy people. I had the best time of my life there and I found many good friends. I miss this country and my plan is to go back next year!

We also skated alot in Patagonia. Patagonia is the part of Argentina where marcos comes from. its super windy and cold there, right in the middle of the dessert. We skated flatrails, curbs and alot of other streetspots! You can kill your board there super fast!!!!

Argentina the the top spot if you love street spots, good food and the hottest girls on earth! Believe me, book your flight now for the time of your life.

White Air Review!

A Big Thanks to Jonni Webster, for the words and pics.  This man does so more for the scene than Grand Ma’s do for Knitwear!

streetboarding-283It was Thursday night and yet again I was about to embark on an epic journey South, on this occasion my destination would be Brighton for the White Air festival. As I set off tunes cranked up and relentless in hand I and a twinge of excitement of what the weekend may bring.

On arrival at the campsite much later than anticipated due to traffic I met up with Lucan and Josh. It was quickly explained any kind of fun was completely banned on this campsite, so with energy drink coursing through my veins and a car boot full of alcohol it became apparent that we wouldn’t be partying the night away Streetboard style but going to sleep.

Friday morning we arrived at the festival site and met the rest of the Airtime crew. The park was still being finished off so all we could do was check it out over the fence. Needless to say there was still plenty of setting up to do on the Airtime stall.

As the festival opened its door the influx of people was relatively slow perhaps to be expected as it’s was a Friday in during term time. There was plenty of interest in the Streetboard School with loads of people being taught over the weekend. As usual a couple of old Snakeboarders popped up and were understandably impressed with the quality of the new boards and at least one actually upgraded.

With the park open the riders started to hit it Josh Newman, Andy Garrett and Simon Johns the main contenders with Lucan from Airtime making an appearance to drop in on aVert for the first time then later drop in on the big roll-in on the Street course. The Streetboards managed to give a good account of the sport with Josh doing plenty of big airs and Garrett throwing down some flips. I must apologise to the riders as the whole weekend seems to have blended into one so won’t attempt to name all the tricks everybody was pulling.

Friday night the lovely guys at Airtime put on a BBQ for the riders and most of the neighbouring traders with plenty of beer available.

Saturday started off much sunnier and a lot busier again with plenty of interest in the Streetboard School. We weren’t due to get on the course till the afternoon but with the arrival of Max, Neil and Dom it promised to be a good show and it was Josh continued to go huge along with Neil and Max blew everybody away getting props off the Mountainboarders,Bladers and Skateboarders along the way. Max got insanely close to a 1080. Saturday night Airtime hooked everybody up with homemade Chilli and more beer, some of us even ventured out to the after party.

Sunday is abit of a tired blur some of skating got done in the morning and maybe some got done after I left at 3.

Over all I think the weekend can be classed as a success and I would defiantly be up for returning next year. Massive props should be given to Airtime for how well they looked after the riders all weekend and well done and a thanks to all the riders who came down skated hard and helped teach all weekend. Myself I believe it was a great way to sign off the summer.
